FOSDEM devroom for drupal confirmed

Our Devroom request for FOSDEM2009 has just been confirmed so we’ll have a mini Drupal track, just like last year.

Mark your calendar: Sunday Feb 8, 2009 – Brussels – FOSDEM Drupal Devroom

The acceptance of our proposal is clear sign of the confidence the FOSS universe has in Drupal, and the importance that is attributed to both the Drupal project and the surrounding community.

Thanks FOSDEM crew!

Belgium, what in the FSM's delicious name are you doing?

Do I hold all the answers? No.
Does that mean I’m not allowed to rant? No.

Here goes.

Creative Commons licensed music freely usable in Belgium? Think again.

Belgian law dictates that certain dues need to be paid when you play music at a party, in a public place or during an event. This is handled through certain organizations that were initially set up to protect artists’ rights.

However, it turns out that these dues – called “Fair remuneration” (“billijke vergoeding” in Dutch) also need to be paid when playing music released under a Creative Commons license.
